In our society, and for many of us, success is defined as money, fame, and power. But what about those who are happy with where they are? Or those who help others, even if they don’t make a lot of money? Are they not successful?
For me, success is doing good in the world, touching other people’s lives. Success is doing something you love and that makes you happy, something that ignites your passion and excitement. It is being productive, making the world a better place, changing people’s lives for the better.
It is helping to improve or shift people’s situation, perspective, and attitude. It is acts of kindness, being happy, and growing as an individual. Having integrity, treating people with love, gentleness, and compassion, and feeling content and happy with what you have. That is success.
It is helping others in any way possible, and helping people change their lives for the better. Helping people feel better about themselves. Helping people learn to love who they are. Bringing happiness and joy to someone’s day. Having integrity, supporting others, helping people become stronger. Helping people laugh more. That is success.
Helping or rescuing animals. Promoting human rights, tolerance, and equality. Planting trees and saving our forests and natural resources. Volunteering, donating, or performing a service. That is success.
Helping people become independent and self sufficient. Helping others find joy and beauty. Helping others feel whole, complete, and perfect just as they are. That is success.
Giving and living the gifts that are you, and sharing that with the world. Having this world become better because you are here. That is success.
And the greatest success of all – Opening and feeling that love energy flow through you and radiate out into your world. Feeling joy and laughter bubble up inside. Feeling grateful for and loving your life, what you have, and who you are.
Realizing that you are whole, complete, and perfect just as you are. Right now, in this moment. There is nothing better than that. And that is success.
