Animals

Small_elephant[1]Animals – I have always loved animals – all animals. I believe they are all here for a reason and have their rightful place on this earth. I believe we can learn from them – in fact, I believe animals can teach us a lot more than we can teach them.

Animals are not THINGS, they are sentient beings, deserving of love and respect. They live, they feel, they are conscious.  Animals FEEL – they show affection, they grieve, they play, and they feel compassion and love. They have a soul – actually, they ARE a soul, temporarily living in an animal body – just like we are temporarily living in a human body.

giraffe_head[1]It hurts me so deeply when I hear about animals being abused or abandoned or mistreated in any way. I ache and cry down to my core, to my soul. Animals are not here to be owned, imprisoned, tortured, kept in cages, forced to perform in circuses, experimented on, forced to give birth over and over, killed for their body parts, killed if they do not meet our needs, chained up or abandoned… They are not for our entertainment or to be under our control. We are not here to dominate any other being.

We need to respect and honor ALL other life forms. We are all here, equal on earth. None of us is above anyone else, whether human or animal. All of us are to be valued, loved, respected, and allowed to live freely in peace.

2011-06-06_21-04-39Jijo[1]Have you looked into the eyes of an animal? You can feel their feelings, their soul, their being. They are not so different from us, they are simply in a different body.

We are continually discovering that so many species, such as elephants and wolves, are smarter than we thought. They have complex, loving families, and we are first discovering just a small part of the depth and power of these. They feel a range of emotions, which has been documented over and over. It makes me wonder how much more we have yet to discover about all these beautiful creatures.

IMG_5851[1]We need to peacefully co-exist with these magnificent animals. We are here to help, protect, and to love other beings. We should use our intelligence to show kindness and compassion towards our fellow creatures on this planet. We should help keep them free and safe. All animals, all creatures on this earth, deserve to be completely free and allowed to live in peace. And we should go out of our way to protect that right for them.

That is what we are here for. Love, kindness, and compassion are for ALL beings. Please let’s respect and honor all life forms.

Beautiful reminder Lynn. I feel so sick when I see pictures of animals that were abused. No, they’re not things. There is so much we can learn from each other.
